Fresh off the train from Wilmington to NYC - I surfaced, street level, at Penn Station. From there I walked about 20 city blocks to a hotel-turned-flop-house-turned-hotel. The Bowery House. I'd recommend the historically accurate, low cost, safe and comfortable hostel to anyone traveling to NYC. Well - maybe not a family with kids, or a couple looking for a romantic getaway ... but you know - anyone with adventure still flowing through their veins.
After a quick snack I took the subway north and strolled Central Park. After dinner I attended a Comedy Show starring Judah Friedlander for free! That was quite a surprise. The next morning, up early and made my way to The Avenue of the Americas to fill my head with direct mail marketing information courtesy of Modern Postcard.
